This video shows how to install slope transition trim with standing seam panels. We wanted to make the porch roof as steep as possible while keeping the peak of the roof below the wall to roof intersection at the top of the shed roof. The piece that allows us to join the two different slopes is the pitch transition trim. Pitch transitions are a common roof detail.

Run the sail material to the roofing with several inches to spare use some 6 rolled metal flashing so this is 1 price.

Slide the right edge of the flashing under the highest roof pitch. We see this quite frequently in log home roofs with porches for example.
